Arthur Ransome. They were about two families of children during WWII and their adventures. The larger family was four kids (like us) with two boys and two girls- they sailed the Swallow. The other was a pair of sisters. They were pirates and sailed the Amazon. Because pirates were "ruthless" the eldest had to change her name to Nancy

Mom's sunfish (12-foot sailboat) now has a Jolly Roger for a sail. It was cheaper than a white one, so, why not? Last time I was there we were thiiiiiiis close to taking it to the lake my baby brother was a camp counselor on to harass him. "Hey, you- yeah, the one that's related to us! Hiiiii!"

I guess all that reading on roadtrips was good training- I don't tend to fall asleep when I'm driving

Reading in cars? Ugh, that does not end well for me. Need more books on tape (er...cd...or mp3 device I suppose).

I guess I missed a lot by being a city rat in the only large city in Texas on a non navigable waterway. We didn't have anything to do with boats, mostly because we were poor and couldn't afford it.

So they cancelled my book order. Apparently it was sold to an instore customer and they did not update their online inventory. Bleh.
somehow I manage to leave my intelligence and decorum at the door wherever I go. I doubt your journal will be an exception to that - not on the rug

That's BS because, like, at a fast food place the drive thru has priority over the in store folks, should be same thing for the book store. Or something.
If I just said LOL, I lied. Do or do not. There is no try.

Hurts the bottom line thereby pissing off the investors, so it's, like, not the 'Mericun Way. Right?
