Heh- that's kinda awesome.
I do wonder, like you, about some of the decisions large bodies make. I mean, decisions by committee are often, um, strange- but making you wait for a decent first aid kit?!
"So the range is over?"
"Yes, but we could use a decent first aid kit, you know maybe with some quikcl..."
"Did everyone qualify?"
"Yes, but about that first aid kit, I think we cou..."
"So we are good for another 6 months?"
"Yeah, but as I was saying..."
"Great. Have a good day."
It's like the conversation I had with the chief of police about noise. It is part of the post traffic regulation that vehicles cannot be over a certain decibel level. Many are. They can write tickets for excessive noise, which admittedly is lame but it is the only way to get people to obey the policy and not make my guys deaf. It went like this...
Me: "Officer Blah, said you all have a decibel meter so if we could get it down to the gate your officers could verify noise levels and get these loud vehicles stopped."
Him: "Yeah, you need to call Safety."
Me: "They can ticket loud drivers?"
Him: "No, but they can tell you if they are too loud."
Me: "So could your officers and they can write tickets."
Him: "Yeah, but safety can tell you if they are too loud."
Me: "And then what?"
Him: "Then we will know they are loud."
Me: "Then you will write tickets?"
Him: "No, then we can have one of our guys bring a noise meter to the gate and if they are too loud they can write tickets."
Me: "Can't you just do that now?"
Him: "You need to call safety..."
Me: "Oh, FML"
Yeah, a friend of mine has big feet and he always said "you know what they say about people with big feet...they can't find shoes just anywhere."
If I just said LOL, I lied. Do or do not. There is no try.
My Dad's friend's wife has size 11 feet. She loves it. She only shops in the clearence section, because it's not like she has any competition that is going to take the good ones before they get there. Of course, I think the last time I saw her I seem to remember floral Berkenstocks, so that might have something to do with it, too . . .
