or you could wear those wrap around pant things that were suggested for Grumpy in another thread. I would assume at some point it would be difficult to tailor a big hip/waist difference. Then again, I know jack squat about tailoring.

It is. I've gotten lucky that I still have 2 sizes to go before I shrink out of Old Navy jeans (they're cheap and they fit better than even the $200 jeans I tried on as a whim.) I've tried tailoring my Levi's 4s and tailoring jeans is such a PITA that I gave up. If I shrink out of Old Navy jeans, I'm going to the custom made jeans.

I'm gonna make myself some of those this week, since Geek is out of town.

That's what I would think as well. I don't believe I'm going to have any issues like that. I seem to be fairly proportionate and for a fat chick, that's kind of a relief.

My oldest has to wear uniforms to school and we find that to be more of a pain than it was before uniforms. Next school year, all 3 will be in uniforms. Oy Vey!!!

I've found American school uniforms to be a joke. You can wear pants/skirt in one of these 3 colors and styles and a shirt in one of these 5 combinations blah blah. It is almost as if they want uniform but different.

Back in teh day in England it was: You will wear these pants, in this color, from this store and this shirt in this color from this store, and oh, here is your tie. Wear it.

My first year teaching (middle school) there was talk of instituting a school uniform. One student loudly complained that it would take away her right to express her individuality. I asked what individuality she was expressing wearing jeans and a Tshirt that said 'Princess' in glitter on it when the same shirt was being worn by 4 other girls (though only hers and two of the others were pink), and 3/4 of the class was wearing jeans. Apparantly irony is wasted on the young.

I wore uniforms from 2nd grade thru 6th grade. My pants and skirts always had to be safety pinned on because I was a tiny little rail thin stick... I shit you not, I wore a 6x in 3rd grade, and that was only because the X had the right length.

I know the feeling. If she's built like me, you can assure her that her figure, when it comes in, will be one that most girls in school dream of. That and being tiny means she's built for martial arts and being a forward in soccer.

She likes my soccer but the middle daughter is more of a natural at it. The middle daughter is 4'9 now and weighs 75 lbs. She wears a sz 10 in girls, sometimes a 12.
