So im doing my first term paper in college, and it's in a human animal relations class, and we can choose our own topic. My topic is the effect of grain on man, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any good books, websites, or even studies that would help me out. Any help is appreciated.

Here's an article by Jared Diamond, "Agriculture: The worst mistake in the history of human race". It's not on the effects of grain per se, but the social changes that occured as a result of agriculture.

One thing I would caution you: In writing a college term paper - don't select source material from only one side of the issue. You should look at some materials from people who think grains are good for humanity (like "Diet for a Small Planet" by Frances Moore Lappe). You can refute the pro-grain arguments, but your paper (and understanding) will be the stronger for looking dispassionately at both sides.
Good point, Geoff. That might also give you a chance to examine famous studies that are commonly referenced by both sides, and see how the actual study supports or refutes either sides' conclusions.
Thanks guys all good suggestions. Definitely going to look through good calories bad calories again, totally forgot how many good studies are in there. This is all really helpful.
