In the past I have always used my diabetes as an excuse not to fast, but now that I IF almost daily, I can't use that reason as a crutch anymore.
Today I Kung Fu'd my first 24 hour fast! "Break-fast" included 6 oz corned beef brisket, half a bag of steam fresh veggies, several tablespoons of coconut oil, 1 serving of awesome maca bar, some coconut cream, a hard boiled egg, and some raw milk cheddar cheese. YUM! Sunday never tasted so good *contented sigh*
Sitting at 1300 cals for the day; 74% fat, 18% protein, 8% carb.
I just did a short IF, dinner last night until lunch just now. Ate the same amount I normally do and yet I do feel kind of groggy. I'll chock it up to my boring job lol.
nicely job on the fasting, although i wouldn't dismiss the grogginess so easily.
I have experienced that as well but iv never given it much thought. there must be some explanation for it hmmmm...
I wonder if it would have something to do with insulin. maybe breaking the fast should be done with a specific meal?
try breaking the fast with meat one day, then eggs the next, then veggies and see if there is a difference.
