    Body Temperature

    Shop Now
In light of the rolling blackouts in Texas because the grid can't keep up, I figured this would be a good time to ask...

Why are my toes always frozen? Even in the summer, they're still like blocks of ice half the time.

My hands warmed up when I stopped eating gluten.

Any ideas for the rest of me?

Oh, and my normal body temperature has moved up from 96.something to 97.something.
Most people don't realize how much energy it takes for me to pretend to be normal.

If I wanted to listen to an asshole, I'd fart.

    Thyroid has always been fine.

Mom's the same way, and hers has gone through every test known to man.

Your T4 toT3 conversion might have increased when you went primal, though it's theoretical (keep in mind that very low carb eating for extended periods of time can actually decrease thyroid function).

I do know that my feet are still always freezing, too. Might work itself out over time, but I'd rather live in endless summer where it's not quite as bad.

It hasn't changed since I went Primal.

I theoretically live where it's warm...and my feet are still cold.

Drinking Cayenne pepper in warm water every morning, has cured my cold feet. Cayenne is very, very beneficial for heart health and the vascular system. Check out http://www.cayenepepper.info for more benefits.

Hey MrsToon...that link doesn't seem to get me anywhere interesting, even if I correct it to have two n's in cayenne.

I did google it though, and the fascinating thing I found is that sprinkling cayenne in your socks will warm the feet! I'm going to give that a try
    Liz.

Zone diet on and off for several years....worked, but too much focus on exact meal composition
Primal since July 2010...skinniest I've ever been and the least stressed about food

I always attributed cold feet to being anemic? Definitely going to try sprinkling cayenne pepper in my socks though. Anything is worth trying.

I have been known to be anemic. Does that lower your overall body temperature as well?

For me it has. I do have a slightly lower body temp than the norm. I typically run an even 98.0-98.3F. I do get cold very easily and it doesn't matter what the season.
