White Pine as a primal food
I came across this article about how the Natives of the Adirondacks (which apparently means tree eaters) survived in the winter by eating the bark of the White Pine.

I found it interesting as a few years ago, I visited Iguazu Park in South America and there, also the natives sometimes ate the sweet sap of a tree that grew there.
