    Pasta Sauce Without Soybean Oil or Sugar?

    Primal Blueprint Expert Certification
    Anyone know of a pasta sauce that doesn't have soybean oil or sugar in it? I can not seem to find one.
    Thank you.

    Pasta sauce isn't difficult to make from canned tomatoes and tomato paste. Just add your Italian spices and let it simmer a bit. Voila! Pasta sauce.

    Just don't use a metal pot. It'll make it taste... tinny.

    I agree with Diana. I make my own with tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, garlic, onions, and Italian seasonings. It's super easy and it tastes a lot better than the stuff from the jar. You can also make a fairly big batch and freeze some for later use.

    Why do you need pasta sauce if your primal and not eating pasta?
    or more to the point - I make a killer marinara meat sauce but I haven't made much it since going primal - tried it on various squash based pasta substitutes but was wondering if ya all have anything that it might taste better on

    Good question. I just ran across these and thought I'd give them a try with some, as you call it, "marinara sauce."
    I'll try making my own. Thanks for the tip ladies.

    You can make your own, but I picked some up from costco made in new york, called White Linen.

    Its REALLY yummy. I cook my pork shoulder in it, I put it over spaghetti squash etc etc etc. I find it doesn't give me heartburn like I suffer with even when I make my own.

    @Tee - thank you
    Yam noodles - there is a pacific market down the street but it closes before I get off work tonight - will look for them later this week. Asian noodles with Italian sauce - should be interesting. Come to think of it the local sunflower market carries kelp noodles - I just never thought of using western sauces on eastern noodles before.

    Edit - oh crap 0 calories? If I can't find these Ill just order them.

    Pasta sauce tastes great on ground beef, especially a tomato based sauce.

    I make my own from tomato paste. I also found a good one at Costco that was organic.

    My daughter and I will have the spaghetti sauce with ground beef by itself - wtih veggies added in it's a complete meal. You don't need pasta for it. I have also put it over spaghetti squash and parsnips; still working on getting the parsnips cooked right, but I still love spaghetii sauce - it's even better without the pasta!

    My homemade marinara is awesome on shrimp! I never really liked pasta anyway.
