I was wondering if anyone has tried it before (how nutritious is it?) and if there are any good recipes that people have tried before. Thanks!

I'm sure it's the same nutrition value as regular clams.

And I'll eat my VFF's if someone can give me a reason as to how geoduck is pronounced gooeyduck. lol

I've not come across any in my area, but if I do, you better believe I'll eat the hell outta that thing.

Noctiluca- it's like a giant sort of clam thing. It actually looks... rather inappropriate- lol

They did an episode of Dirty Jobs harvesting geoducks. I can't remember how they prepared them - sauted maybe?

I always giggle when I think of them. I'd fry the heck out of them and eat em too.

It is a giant clam. They were a wild-gathered staple in coastal Oregon, Washington and BC from time immemorial. You can still find them offered at sushi places or better fish markets, but I think I read that the harvest has dwindled. They can live for 150 years and their siphon can extend up to a meter long. The name is a bad transliteration of a native name.

There are many recipes on line... we put them through a meat grinder and make chowder ..
if you do stir fry in butter, onions, celery, small chunks
watch close about 1 min is all it takes, just as it starts to change in color take it out,
it is like calimari you over cook it you have rubber bands to chew on..
