Is there any sugar in maple syrup?
Unfortunately there is no information about it on the bottle.

Maple syrup has to be at least 66% sugar to be called Maple Syrup. The "Aunt Jemima" type crap is just corn syrup with maple flavoring. Gross.

The real deal is fantastic. I've got a bottle of organic stuff that is nearly gone-- bought it last week. Have been using it in cooking instead of honey.

yes, it is mostly sugar. if it's made traditionally, it's sugar and some egg.

Egg? Really? I thought if it was made properly, it was just the sap of a maple tree?

Ha ha, I thought it was ALL sugar... It's my go to sweetener when something needs sweetness. I find a teensy bit (like 1/4 tsp) goes a LONG way.

It is a refined sugar. If it was simply sap that was taken from the maple tree, it would be an unrefined sugar. But between the time it is collected and then put in the bottle, it's refined. IMO, I don't think it's all that great for a Primal diet, but to each his own.

Exactly. It's all sugar. I'm ok with a very VERY small amount, on occasion. But, grains, I'm not ok with, not even a little. I'm celiac, so I'm especially on ok with gluten, EVER.
