    Water consumption!

I used to drink 1-1.5 out of habit and love for water, but I fell out of the habit a few months ago and lately I'm finding it very difficult to get in a gallon. It's uncomfortable, and I don't even like the water when I'm drinking it. I also used to add crystal light to my water, but since cutting back on artificial sweeteners and going primal, I haven't been using it.

Any suggestions? How much do you think is necessary for an active individual?

PB says to drink when you are thirsty. Personally, I try to get 1/2 my body weight in ounces daily (85 oz for me, but if you were to weigh 200 lbs, you'd drink 100 oz). I have a 30 oz mug that I fill up a couple times a day. It gets the job done pretty easily.
You could also look into sparkling mineral water or buy your own water carbonater & add some fruit juices to it.

I used to drink a lot more water and was probably overhydrated a lot of the time. Now I drink mainly when I'm thirsty and not too close to meals. My pee is normally a good colour and some days I feel like I need more water than others. I don't have a set amount I have each day and if you eat a lot of fresh food you won't need as much.

I can't ever seem to lose weight unless I drink a lot of water. Over the years, through all sorts of different food plans, this has been true for me. Someone explained it to me once that if chronically dehydrated, the body won't relinquish anything for fear of not knowing when the next water is coming; self-preservation mode. If I only drink when I'm thirsty, my urine is very thick/dark colored (dehydrated). It also makes a big difference in my skin, which, now that I'm over 40, is all of a sudden a big concern. I need at least 64 oz. (32 x 2), but I am trying to up it to 96 oz. (32 x 3).

I have always been a very thirsty person and my body is very sensitive to dehydration. Often I'll get a headache from it before I'll truly feel "thirsty." So, a water bottle is with me all the time and I fill it up regularly. I generally go through 6+ fills on a 32 oz Nalgene bottle a day. Other than my coffee in the morning, and the occasional herbal tea, water is about all I drink most days.

You could jazz it up a bit by squeezing fresh lemon or lime juice in it, or looking for flavored seltzers (flavored just with fruit essences, not sweetened with artificial sweeteners or sugar).
