Dr. Eades is amazing. I don't know how he managed to dig up another great article but this one really applies to those who love their meat:

The paper he discusses argues that humans developed big brains because we transitioned to eating large amounts of meat.

I also think cooking the meat explains the second jump in brain development (he mentions this theory a bit too if your read through a lot of comments).

It must be true. I've always eaten a lot of meat and many folk say that I have a big head.......oh, brain, huh?

Eades does do good work. It's just a pity he didn't get into the effects of cooking meat. That would account for the elevation in the last million years and fit controlled fire usage time estimations nicely.

    The "Seven Deadly Sins"

    • Grains (wheat/rice/oats etc) . . . . . • Dairy (milk/yogurt/butter/cheese etc) . . . . .• Nightshades (peppers/tomato/eggplant etc)
    • Tubers (potato/arrowroot etc) . . . • Modernly palatable (cashews/olives etc) . . . • Refined foods (salt/sugars etc )
    • Legumes (soy/beans/peas etc)

Yea, I am going to keep this link for a long time. It is great to use as reference when explaining why you eat the way you do.
