I didn't, to be honest - I ended up eating a fair amount of rice. Since I was visiting theme parks every day, being fully primal wasn't really viable as food options were limited (I am not into IFing - last time I tried it I gained 10lbs of fat and screwed my metabolism). I just made sure I avoided wheat, kept my protein and veggies up and when there was chance of a non-rice meal (Korean barbecue - yum!) I went for it.
I weighed the same on my return and my body comp doesn't seem to have suffered - I just have to reeducate my body to fun off fats again. Small price for a run holiday.
