I just started primal eating on New Years and have had trouble sleeping ever since. Before this I was a very good sleeper. I would fall asleep as soon as I made the decision to go to bed and wake up around the same time naturally. But now I toss and turn and can't sleep. I look at the clock and it's 1am, then 3am. Is this normal in the beginning? Does it get better?
Is there anything I can do or take to sleep?
What are you eating? One thing to consider is how you were eating before New Years. Your body may be going through an adjustment to perhaps very different foods and it may take a few days or weeks before you feel better and sleep better. For me, too few carbs caused insomnia and other problems. Once I added primal carbs like sweet potatoes and a bit of fruit, I slept so much better and felt better.
