How can anyone say Earthing is hogwash? It's probably the most anti-inflammatory/balancing thing you can do for yourself.

I walked barefoot yesterday on my walk, slept perfectly (8 hours with no dreams) and woke up at dawn without an alarm. I haven't tried the mats or bands but think they sound interesting.

You could just say that you got some good exercise in the fresh air and sunshine. Of course that helps your sleep. But it sounds so much cooler and new age-y if you call it "earthing".

It sounds a lot like a low-scale implementation of Mark's description of "Forest bathing".

If we bring it back around to Traditional Chinese Medicine, there are many acupressure and acupuncture points on the soles of your feet that never get stimulated in shoes. A lot of parks in Taiwan have strips of walkways that are covered in smooth stones, cemented in. People walk on them barefoot (and it hurts if you aren't used to it) for the acupressure effect. If not that, then the massage of it feels good all by itself.

Even just the release from shoes can allow your feet to expand and have increased blood flow. The stimulation of the many nerves you have in your feet, ...

I don't know. I like walking barefoot. I like dirt, but all of this because it feels nice. I guess I don't care about the science, because I know how I feel when I do it. Sound familiar to anyone?
