So instead of ceasing to feed pigs corn and soy and instead giving them their more natural, varied, diet of fruits, nuts, insects, green vegetables, we are going to alter their DNA so their body can more readily digest food it was not designed to eat in mass quantities?

    Ok.

Love it: The population is getting harder to feed, let's find a way to feed them by screwing with nature even further.

I guess it's not politically correct to ask people to stop making babies? The world is grossly over populated, nature refuses to let it be so, so we are trying to force it. The entire world should adopt China's one child law.

Overpopulation is a myth & it's basis is founded on CW....

John Lennon on the overpopulation myth
yeah i dont believe overpopulation you know. i think thats just a kind of a myth that's been thrown out to keep your mind off Vietnam and Ireland and all the important subjects

I don't know Kenn, I fail to associate how thinking the world is over populated keeps one from worrying about war and such. No offense to John Lennon, but that sounds like what one stoner says to another in between bong hits.

I just see a lot of people with no homes, a lot of kids with no food, a lot of extreme poverty in many areas of the world, and what seems to be an overall lack of food for all.

Go to NYC, China, India... shit, go on the New Jersey Parkway when I get out of work and tell me the world isn't over populated.

I also figure, through the advances in medicine, people aren't dropping at the rates they used to, the counter argument could be made though that more people are aware of ways not to conceive and the birth rate has slowed down as well but at least as far as this GM animal is concerned, the video states that it's due to the fact that we need to feed the people that they've created it, along with the GM salmon.

I'll read that link soon though, but I still think the world is over populated. The less people around the more effectively we can use our current resources, I reckon.

Overpopulation myth fails to take into account

    innovation, efficiency, & technology

remember the green revolution? farmers are always striving to create higher crop yields, as soon as they can figure out how to do box stacking & swapping instead of relying on land squared, they can rely on land cubed

The earth isn't overpopulated, certain regions definitely are overpopulated though.

Normal pigs already create environmentally healthy waste products... it's called manure.
