I've been having fun organizing and setting up my classroom.
This year, I will be teaching 3 College Spanish I classes and 2 Spanish Level III classes. That is only 2 preps and both upper level which means fewer behavior problems. Nice!

I took a long lunch and got my hair cut. Due to overuse of cheap box color, my hair was very damaged and dry. In length it fell just beneath my shoulder blades. I told her to do what she must to make it healthy. Now it is a really cute, just beyond chin length bob. It feels so healthy. I'll try to get a pic later.
My hairdresser finished her RN and got a job in a local hospital so this was our last time together. Happy for her, sad for me. I made my next appt. with the shop owner.

boxed hair color is the worst thing you can put on your hair. I stopped coloring about 5 years ago cuz it was making my hair so dry and awful. Now my hair is healthy and soft. Yes, its turning grey - but you can't hold back the signs of age forever. Course I'm blonde - so the grey doesn't show that much.

I'd rather have soft, healthy grey hair - than dry, brittle fake colored hair.

Can't wait to see your hair! Ah, I remember the dyes of over-dyeing... oh wait, I think I did that at least twice this year

professionally done color can be quite luxurious (tomi, you should consider highlighting it will help blend the grey, give the hair more dimension) and the grey is then really platinum blonde.

p.s. boxed at home can be done, without much damage, but not if you plop it on the whole head, gotta do just the roots like hairdressers do.

Luckily, my sister is a stylist, so all I have to do is buy the color I want. She gets the processor from work and does it for me for free. Saves me a ton on color, when I actually color it. Haven't had it colored in since 2010...

I was a hairdresser for 17 years, I do my own now, but I only color from the ears/crown up. All the grey makes it look like highlights and the underside has no grey yet so it is just darker. I also do my immediate (DD cut and color, DS & DH cut) which I cannot imagine how much money I have saved the family over the years. I do friends but only for barter-my time for their time. Family lives a 12 hour drive away, so I only do them when I am in town. I did teach my mom to use an electric razor so now she does dad's.

My sister does all of ours. Me, Brad, Brady and Makenna. She doesn't charge, whether we are at the salon or home. We tip her generously, which is untaxed.

My gray doesn't really show unless I'm in bright sunlight. Honestly I don't care I'm 53 - I deserve a little gray! Its certainly NOT worth spending $80 to hide
