Ketones large-darkest level
Last night when I came home from the gym I was ravenous, but had eaten my food for the day. I walked in and saw the pork ribs my husband had cooked and left for me. I ate one before I thought about it. Then I weighed a second one and ate that too. My macros yesterday ended up being: 189 fat (69%) 147 protein (24%) 47 carb (8%) 2403 cals. I burned just over 2600.
Since my carbs were still under 50, I can only think that the high protein boosted my FBS. I predict that my ketones will be lower tomorrow in reaction to the high FBS today.
Why was I so hungry? I had the sense all day that I was hitting a new level of ketosis. The super dark purple on the ketostix bears this out. Ketostix have always been very accurate for me, getting darker the longer I am in ketosis.

What am I doing? Depends on the day.
Do you notice a difference in hunger between strength & cardio days? Does your fbs go higher after a heavy workout?
RE Protein and FBS, I really expected a much higher FBS this am.
Another observation about last night is that it was technically binge behavior brought on by my body's nutritional needs. I had that meat in my mouth before I even thought about it. lol
The interesting thing is that allowing myself to eat calories that I had not planned then triggered the emotional / habitual binge thinking. My mind said "Binge, binge,binge!" and "You have already blown it so you might as well eat anything you want."
I really had to fight it. I did end up eating 4 carefully measured Tbsps of Almond butter, to take the edge off. That is why my carbs went up to 50. Glad I didn't eat the ice cream, cereal and PB toast that I really wanted.
Hunger? yes hungrier on cardio days because I expend more calories. I am eating about 65g protein on average. I may begin to eat 75 grams on heavy workout days (abt. 3 days a week).
In thinking about it more, I am hungrier with cardio, but FBS goes up more with LHT.
