Sounds like a good plan, P. Good luck with it!

Ketosis Experiment Week 1 » Diagnosis: Diet
This doctor started her experiment on January 31st. She based her plan on the work of a cancer specialist. The recommendation of the cancer Dr. is a 3-5 day water fast to start, but that is for people who have been diagnosed with cancer. He believes the optimal body environment for the prevention/destruction of cancer is 55-65 fasting BS (very low) and .4 mmol. blood ketones(very high).

    .
I think you mean 4.0mmol Probably a good idea, I think I learned a few things while doing my modified FF.

p.s. do you think that link is "1st page" worthy. Looks like great info.

Last night we had family movie night. I made stove top popcorn and we watched "Hotel Transylvania". We all loved it.

I am having a very positive day today. First I laid out my eating plan for the next few days. Then, I went through my dresser drawers which would not close and realized that I had never put away summer clothes. I had a small pile of donation stuff too. This allowed me to put away clothing that had been laying over a chair in my music space. Now I can reach both of my guitars, music stand and music. Ooops, I forgot to practice last night. I am getting a lot of laundry done as well.

Bill is sick today and sleeping a lot. He takes a med to lower his heart rate due to atrial fibrillation. It lowered his heart rate too much (close to 40bpm) Not a good day to talk with him about anything, so I will leave things alone.

Food - I had a BPC this morning. I have pre planned a small amount of salmon for dinner with curried vegetables. Another BPC and some macadamia nuts. I was aiming for 1000 cals (FF protocol), but that is impossible to do and still have a dinner with my family. So i should hit about 1200. I may have to go higher in cals tomorrow due to work.

I think 1000 is a rather arbitrary number, it can't be right for everyone. I think as long as you get your percentages right and keep the calories as low as reasonable, you will see results.

    I agree with this...
Plus this low number makes some people feel edgy which is not good.
Do it so you feel comfortable. Even if that means adding a couple of days to the plan and starting at higher calories then edging them down or something if you really think it's important to hit the target.
    No 'diet' stress.

Plus you are WELL above average female height, and we all know that "average" diet numbers are aimed at ladies about what, 5-6 inches shorter than you?

Oh Pebbles, I am with you in spirit on the binge eating issue and needing to lose weight. I have actually been tossing around going on metformin for 6 months, because I just can't seem to lose real weight and still play with the same 25-30 lbs all the time.

I am going to type a lot because we seem to have a lot in common.

In my opinion, binge eating cannot be solved with food. It is not a food issue, it is a self soothing, and self punishing response to the world. I decided to go back to therapy to help move into a healthier way of dealing with the world. I think HFLC can help me control some parts of binge eating, but that most of all it gives me a place to work on the deeper issues surrounding food and binging.

As far as your relationship style, it seems that your issues feed each others issues for whatever reason. This is definitely true with my amazing husband, so it may just be you guys need an adjustment to your communication process. I wonder if talking with someone couldn't help you express yourselves to each other better. Communication is hard. I've also realized lately, that while I vent to my gals, my hubs vents to me. This feeds the worry in me, because I take it to heart. So either I have to learn to say, hey, you are freaking me out, call a friend, or to not let it freak me out.

Let's be honest, this experiment in learning how to control this disorder in our minds is rough, and it is a process. We are like that show Hoarders, a lot of emotions are going to come up.

I know this is a time when your frustrations at the process and hubs and life will get the best of you. You aren't using food as often to numb yourself. The contrast between extended clean eating and binge eating will be way more pronounced. Facing emotions feels soooooo bad when you are resisting. I plan to look into some meditation to help with all of this.

I know you can do this. But we have to go through it to get through it.

You have a ton of support here, but I know binge eating is weird and embarrassing. If you ever need to talk about it, I am willing. I may write you a few messages too.

So what are you going to eat on your ff? I am developing a plan!

Kymma, you are such a sage. Even when you are sorting out your own things on your journal, I feel enlightened for having read your posts .

    Thanks for the thoughts.

I am drinking BPC, having macadamias and one small meal. Not easy or fun, but now that I have a new plan I want to work it.
