I decided against the flu shot this year. Hope I don't regret it.
I got the shot, just to shut my GP up.
Doesn't seem to make any damned difference, frankly. My immune system has always been cast-iron strong. Figure, can't hurt, so big deal.
They gave me the flu shot in the hospital but my perspective is that its always a 50/50 deal if it works.

What am I doing? Depends on the day.
Don't know how true this is, BUT, a friend's kid doc said that this year's flu shot does cover the strain that is running rampant right now. It still takes like 2 weeks to take effect and going to the doc now would almost guarantee exposure...
Hope its nothing major Paula, and hope your MIL is ok.
Sending good wishes and hugs, hope your MIL will be well again very soon. And you too, Paula.
I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.
Praying for you & MIL!
MIL is much improved but it was a close call. 2 days ago she took my FIL to the Dr. She looked so bad that the Dr. insisted that she admit herself for a pacemaker implant. She actually checked into the hospital last night. They found that she was dehydrated from not eating because she felt ill. They started IV fluids. Unfortunately, because her heart was not pumping properly, the excess fluid caused acute congestive heart failure.
They caught it in time. She is on a ridiculous amount of Lasix to make her get rid of the excess fluid. She will get the pacemaker tomorrow afternoon.
What a crazy day! I was sick and draggy. According to my monitor, I slept less than 3 hrs. Then the MIL crisis and a sucky faculty meeting. I ate 1000 cals over my goal in fat. A binge on primal stuff. Trying not to binge on sugar or wheat.
Glad its over. Going to bed soon.
