    I have decided I am just going to not eat sugar or grains, and do the best I can with the rest till I get back. I was thinking about making some kind of fat bomb balls. I also plan to make a batch of the cream cheese/tampenade with celery because that satisfies the need to crunch and the need for salty. I will likely also eat too much cheese, but better that than cookies.

    I'd rather overeat on protein and fat than sugar...I've just barely lost the sugar monster cravings and don't really want them back!

    Hey Ruth, regarding that whipped dessert. I have seen many pins that show whipped coconut milk, so I am certain it would work and probably be very good!

    I will also be eating more cheese but it is better than sugar and grains. I have the celery ready and will make my own tampenade The fat bombs will make my desserts seem decadent.

    I did some pre-emptive chocolate purchases this year. We usually have chocolate oranges, and Toblerone bars in our stockings. Plus Santas, and some Ritter sport squares. And maybe some Kinderschokolade. Oh, and Ferraro Roche and Almond Roca! (Why yes, we DO like choclate at Christmas!)

    We're budgeting, so I asked each of us which treats were VITAL. (Chocolate oranges and Toblerones.) I purchased those, but they are not vital for me, so for my stocking I got two bars of DARK chocolate. And a package of Ferraro Roche to split amongst all of us, so I will only have four. It feels good to have a plan for a sensible indulgence, as opposed to a 'it's Christmas, what the hell' kind of plan.

    I made gluten-free (from a mix) and vegan brownies (to share with my sister). There's extra sugar since I used applesauce instead of an egg (really just need to replace the moisture, though they will be denser). One is PLENTY and I can feel it in my head if I have more. Pumpkin pie filling is a great idea, as it'd be very fatty, made with coconut milk. I still have some cans of pumpkin from Thanksgiving.

    Hi Paula,

    I just wanted to say thanks for starting the more fat challenge thread. It is nice to have at least one thread going where someone is not preaching the Gospel of the Holy Spud and telling you you have "disordered eating" if you choose to leave starch and sugar out of your diet.

    Happy Holidays to all my dear MDA friends!

    I am having some technical difficulties with our wireless router. Only one of us can be hard wired to the modem at a time. Due to that and the Holiday you may not see me much in the next few days.
