Day 1 went fairly well, but Some cheese and regular potatoes got in, so I will make today official Day 1 and weigh in on 12/24. It is hard to behave when there are cheese platters everywhere.

We leave for home at noon today. We are bringing my in laws home with us.

Identifying your temptation/trigger foods is important. Stay strong!!

In-laws coming? Is this a good thing?

That's what I was wondering heh.

I almost had some potatoes and rice at dinner last night, but then I grabbed more veggies then I think I wanted to eat to avoid temptation. I ended up getting REALLY full on the protein anyway, but I made myself finish off the veggies. Going home/ending the day full is a good thing!

Yes. I like my in laws. My FIL gets really tired of climbing the stairs to the third floor at BILs house. He likes our place because it is a ranch. Our children are also less exhausting for him. We are a more laid back family.

I love when my parents come, so does DH. His parents were always a lot of work for me, and his mom never really cared for me or the way I raised the kids. Nice to have in-laws you enjoy.

Hello. I want to thank you for mentioning the book ISWF and the website. I purchased the kindle edition on Friday and am working my way through it now. Such an eye opener!! My husband and I plan to try our first Whole30. Neither of us have any outward symptoms or issues; we are simply interested in eating healthy. And now we know that our diet isn't as healthy as we thought, it seems ridiculous not to change.

Oh Zee, I'm so glad. I thought I was basically "preaching to the choir" in that all of my journal readers knew about the W30, had tried it before or just discounted it as too hard and chosen not to.

This is my first true, completely clean W30. Therefore, I feel justified in advertising it with the banner in my signature and on FB.
Good luck to you and your husband. I hear it is an eye opener for even the healthiest people.

    Day 2

We arrived home at 4:30pm yesterday. I had to clean up our bedroom & house without my in laws knowing it. We were not prepared to have them over, but were glad to accommodate them. I have to admit that I was tired and cranky by the end of it, but I kept it to myself. (sugar withdrawal and days of sleeping in a strange bed) The look of relief on my FIL's face knowing his bed was just down the hall was totally worth it.

    Food yesterday:
2 eggs, onions and sweet potato cooked in Ghee.

    Turkey, parsnips and sweet potato

Chicken, cucumbers, tomatoes and onion with O&V dressing

    Coffee, water and tea.
