I'm really critical of photos of myself. I generally feel that I am completely unphotogenic. It would be really cool to get professional photos taken someday so I can at least have one to be proud of!
I will be interested in your results as you follow nourishing traditions. It would be great if this was the avenue that got the family on board.

I have to get the NT book, but they have lots of info on their website.
I know that choosing something and sticking with it is the key. I think that I am looking for something that my entire family can live with while still helping me heal my metabolism and eating disorder.
Finding something that the whole family can live with is a major issue in our house. Although as it turns out DH has gotten this bug in his bonnet about meat, I am trying to ignore it. I have been mostly making a salad (caesar for the kid, and BAS for DH and I) then a protein and a veggie or 2. When I do something carby for them it is usually on the side of at least the salad. Over the course of a couple of weeks I make them homemade pizza one night and pasta one night and they get ice cream one night each weekend and once a month or so I make a loaf of bread when we have company-none of which I eat. I use the best sources I can and make everything from scratch, so I figure they are better off than most. Small changes and eventually they will have changed over and not even realize it.

Getting my family on board on has been key to my success. It's taken a long time. I had to do it gradually. [I tried the radical "they will change with me" approach, and that DID not work!] I think starting with a "traditional, whole food" approach is good. I still make DH rice sometimes, but something like that is easy for me to bypass. [It's not completely perfect. I'd love to ditch the "nuts" and the occasional "treats", but mom and DH "need" these things. But, it's better than chips, crackers, and candy, so I'll take it!]

DD was on a restricted diet almost from birth due to allergies she now no longer has. She also has an issue with food so I do not think I will ever get there with her. However, its not hard to deviate with just one.
