    Yesterday after practice we recorded some promotional music videos with the cast of WW. We used free karoake mp3s and the kids sang in character. I was the only adult included. For Augustus's song we did a version of "Another One Bites the Dust" The kids and I sang "Anozer von bites ze crust" while I fed marshmallows to Augustus. The promos will end up on You Tube. I'll put the link here when they are up. Officially, the videos will become part of the director's theatre blog about the show.

    Today is the Jazz recital at my teacher's music studio. I am one of two singers. The other is her daughter. Off to practice.

    OK...I was the only adult student in the recital...and my teacher did not warn me. The set list said each performer's name, instrument and grade in school. EEEK!

    So when I got up, I cracked a few jokes about being the "biggest" person in the show. Then put in a plug for Willie Wonka. I sang my songs and wowed the crowd. A few of my friends were there because their kids were in the recital. They teased me, but in the end, they were very supportive.

    It sounds like the recital went well. A little heads up from the teacher would have been nice, but, eh, sounds like you rocked their socks off so woot woot to that.
