Yes, we are blessed to have almost 4 wooded acres on the edge of the Catskill Mtns. We bought our home and property in 2000 for a great price. After 9/11 property values around here went nuts. We never would have been able to afford it after that. Luckily, our house is a small ranch, so taxes are high, but livable.

And here's our boy Sonic, the goat who believes he is a dog and can't understand why he isn't allowed in the house.

Yes, he is wearing a harness and is attached to a 20 ft, metal cable. If we let him wander loose, he visits the neighbors and eats their flowers. He also has a fenced in area attached to his shed. The female deer come up close to him. They recognize that he is like them but not the same. When he was a baby, they tried to break him out of the fence and take him away.

Dean's take on things is whole life change, not just the Paleo diet. He has culled fabulous information on life change form many places, but He has some great ideas of his own as well. His first book has just been published. I am anxiously awaiting my copy.

Really, if you are stuck in a rut, check Dean out.

    Paula,

Sorry that you're having struggles right now - and good for you for not bingeing! Its hard to stay away from junk when its in the house. I'd have a struggle if I was living with a hubby and kids who weren't primal. So, please always give yourself LOTS of credit for every bit of success that you have.

The thought had also occurred to me, as it did to PC, that maybe you are experiencing peri-menopausal symptoms. That would explain a lot of what's happening, including the shift of water weight and/or body fat to the core and away from extremities, including your face. If you haven't already, you might want to consider hormone evaluation and bio-identical hormone replacement. Can help with the binges, fatigue, water weight, breakouts, and more.

That said, the iodine could also be behind SOME of these more recent symptoms. My guess is that its BOTH iodine and hormones.
