I would also recommend the Eades' books (start with Protein Power) and Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution. Oh, and definitely read "The Great Cholesterol Con" by Colpo.

Gary Taubes had an article in this month's vogue denouncing CW in favour of a more paleolithic diet. I was stoked to read it and see that things are catching on - albeit slowly.

If I already read GCBC should I read Why we get Fat? Has anyone read both and learned something new from the new book?

Taubses' book is one of my all time favorites. He is a well-respected science reporter who decided to look into the science behind the claims that low carb is bad, and what he uncovered was over half a century of bad science, perverted research, etc. This book is heavy on science, but even if you don't have patience with all the data, you can still get a wealth of valuable information. Taubes is all about the science, never had a weight problem himself, doesn't sell anything but writing, and has been attacked by the main stream who are clearly threatened by this Harvard educated science writer.
This time, like all times, is a very good one, if we but know what to do with it. Ralph Waldo Emerson

Nah. The most frustrating thing about the book is that people forget half the book and then try and apply what they do remember. Then they come up with gems like "I can eat all the fat I want and not gain weight!" and wonder why they are not taken seriously...
