    The Dragon Flag

    Shop Now
I just posted my final blog of 2010. It is about one of my favorite bodyweight exercises, the dragon flag.

Feel free to leave your comments directly on my blog.

I'm excited to take a little hiatus from blogging but I'll be back with lots of new articles in January.

Thanks for all the support you guys have given me throughout the year!

I tried going to gym with my brother for two months, and one month of that was paleo(i started eating paleo a month in to lifting). I didn't care for it and I wasn't seeing the result I was expecting. So for two months now I have been doing body weight exercise only an have finally been getting somewhere in both strength and physique. And your blog has been at the top of the list for help in that. This is another that I appreciate. Thanks Al!

i kicked push-up butt yesterday, and i just kept thinking about your cool arm crossing thing when doing push ups.

so, i need to get video of it, but my KID did these. i was holding onto his dad's ankles to do them (negatives) and to make sure that i had super-solid form (i have a trick that helps, btw which i will share in a moment), and the kid goes "me, daddy! hawk does it!" and wouldn't you know he did. crazy kid.

ok, my tip is to get a long piece of twine and tie it around the wrists, and then bring it along the sides of the body and down under the balls of the feet. this way, you know that you are in a straight line,b ecause if ou bend at the hips, the sting will fall off your feet.

so if you are by yourself without someone to spot you, it's a good trick to make usre you are straight.

You've got a strong kid on your hands - It would be cool to see some video of that!

Interesting tip about using string to spot yourself. Thanks for sharing!

    you are definitely bad ass.

and yeah, the kid is freaky-strong. he managed a pull up (not a chin up) on his own today. usually, dad "helps" him with all 10 (he likes to do sets of ten, though he can count to 11 now--with cognitive understanding of it anyway), but he did the first one on his own before dad managed to get his hands on him. lol

yeah, i think we are in for interesting times.
