Is it normal for sugar/glucose levels to go on a primal or meat based diet? I was looking at my lab results again. My cholesterol improved, my triglycerides, improved, lost weight, but my glucose level went up 5 points. I am still in a healthy range, i was just wondering if this is normal?

In short, yes eating a high fat diet can cause insulin resistance and higher fasting glucose. However, this is completely natural and necessary. Your A1C should still be low and post prandial glucose should be good too.

A1C is a meaure of your average blood sugar over time. It measures the level of glycation of the protein hemoglobin in your red blood cells.
