Actually I find I spend a lot less on food now per week due to making lunches instead of buying. I buy chicken wings and roast them up to take for lunch without homemade coleslaw. Chicken wings are cheap as people generally don't want them due to the fat content...That's the part I want.

So my tip is...buy chicken wings.

    Anyone else got any tips?

Regarding number 7 - I buy bulk bags of organic lemons and tiny apples for around $4 each. There are usually around 10-12 apples in a bag. I eat one every day or every other day. That's about 40 cents a day. I use the lemons for water and squeezing over vegetables.

Nice post. I do 2, 4, 12, 14, and 15 already (though sardines are periodically backburnered). Now to find a hunter in So Cal.
Started PB late 2008, lost 50 lbs by late 2009. Have been plateaued, but that thing may just be biting the dust: more on that later.

That's a really good tip thanatos, and chicken wings and coleslaw are right up my alley. We eat out so rarely that I completely ignored that as an option, but I shouldn't have.

And a little fruit at that price seems perfectly paleo to me supperjenni!

Chronyx, bone broth can be as simple as saving the bones from your meals in a freezer bag and when you have enough, toss them in a pot with a tablespoon or two of vinegar and fill the pot with water. Let it simmer away for 12-24 hours, adding water as needed. Sometimes veggies and herbs are added. Here's a link to how I make chicken bone broth: http://followingmynose.blogspot.com/...one-broth.html

Thanks Diana! Yes, you are quite an inspiration when it comes to #1!!

Good luck finding that hunter tangentrider! I just cooked my first ever deer tenderloin, and it is melt in your mouth delicious. I am amazed that people aren't fighting over this stuff, but most people I know really don't care for venison. Yay, more for me.
