Haha, this one is going to backfire when people start eating 8 banana's and half a watermelon a day on top of their regular meals:

Well, at least they say that an apple is better than a 100 calorie snack pack. I do not think this is a good decision, as most people want to stick to their nutrional garbage.

That is so wrong that they should be held fiscally accountable for the new spike in diabetes we're going to see as a result of this. Idiots!
Primal eating in a nutshell: If you are hungry, eat Primal food until you are satisfied (not stuffed). Then stop. Wait until you're hungry again. Repeat.

Problem is most people tend to opt for the high-sugar fruits (pineapples, bananas, melons, etc) if given the option.

Fresh fruits and most vegetables are free
I don't understand what vegetables warrant being less "free" than fruit. Avocado, because of the fat? Except it's actually a fruit. . .

At the end of the day, calories are king. There is no doubt about that.
Sigh. Calories may count, but they are definitely not king.

The new system helps dieters realize that a snack of a 100-calorie apple is a much better choice than a 100-calorie bag of chips.
Honestly, I do think it is a small step mostly in the right direction.

They are probably talking about potatoes vegetable wise.

Fruit juice, dried fruit and starchy vegetables are not included in the freebies.
well, at least this is something. at the end of the day, i'd rather have people eat fruits & veggies than those scary frankenfood microwave meals. perhaps they'll use the leftover points to eat some bacon!

Keep dreaming. Turkey bacon is the closest most of them will come to that part of the pig.
