14 month bloodwork results, YAY Primal

    Primal Fuel
I haven't posted in a while but have been continuing to maintain my primal diet and lifestyle. I had my blood levels checked last week and got the results in the mail today, and I wanted to share. I have been primal since September 2009, with the goals to just eat a diet to support my fitness goals. I was healthy before and within a good weight.

These are all after fasting for approx. 14 hours:

    Glucose 78
Total Cholesterol 198 (up 18 points from a year ago)
LDL 86.6 (down three points from a year ago)
HDL 104 (up 18 points from a year ago)
Triglycerides 37 (exact same as a year ago)

Everything else looks normal except I have an elevated AST liver enzyme; the range indicated is 15-37 and mine was 47. My doctor told me not to be concerned about this, but I'm not really sure. I'll probably get a second opinion on that because I have heard high fat/protein diets can be hard on the liver.

    Just wanted to share.

Just read that "vigorous exercise" elevates AST. It's apparently secreted by lots of parts of the body, not just the liver.

Zone diet on and off for several years....worked, but too much focus on exact meal composition
Primal since July 2010...skinniest I've ever been and the least stressed about food

So the fact that I just completed P90X last week might have something to do with it?

I had a suspicion that kinda nuttiness might be involved
