    Primal Fuel
yeah, i did. dark, semi-cool temperatures are nice for migraines. kids were wild, but of course we were outside so it wasn't so bad. and i ate a lot of candy. last year i didn't really want to eat any, but this year for some reason it was appealing.

    GOTD: douchebags.

so a few years ago my husband worked private security for a jack daniels tent at a local festival of sorts. we were short on money, and it was $1500 for a week's work. one of his coworkers tried to sneak off with a few hundred worth of product and my husband caught him. my husband gave him a choice: put the product back and walk away, or he'd call the cops. the guy put the products back, but left my husband with a threat that the next time they met, this guy would shoot on sight. we kept a lookout for the guy, but he never turned up.

this morning my husband received a facebook message from this same guy: "I still can't wait to run into you. :P" ugh, what an ass. seriously, it has been three years.

Shoot someone over a couple of cases of Jack? That goes way beyond douchebag status. Hopefully, the D-bag will get runover by a liquor truck. Ah sweet irony.

There should be an official international organization for the support for and perpetration of irony and poetic justice.

That guy's definitely a shithead and not a douchebag. The good news is that your husband can now notify the police and have the issue resolved. The police can track that threat down via the service provider(s), which has to yield any information necessary in the lawful pursuit of a [whatever type of] offence.

it's likely that notifying the authorities would just add fuel to the fire. my husband thinks the guy's just a douche and would never act on this. otoh, this dude lives maybe 2 hours from where i do, but likely comes into my town somewhat often because it's the largest town regionally.

hmm...weird coincidence actually. my little car, which has never leaked a drop in the 5 years we've had it, is leaking transmission fluid. as in, there's a puddle on the ground and i doubt that there's any fluid left in the reservoir. i noticed it yesterday but didn't bother checking it out yet as i had a migraine. maybe i ought to take a look today for signs of obvious tampering. i should also check the minivan, just to be safe.

    *edit*
scratch that, it's power steering fluid. no obvious signs of tampering (to my eyes at least). still a weird coincidence. we'll see what happens when i refill the reservoir, then i'll be able to see where the leak is.

See, this is where we in Canadaland are nice and civilized. We don't shoot people, or want to shoot people.

We kick 'em in the fuckin' nuts, then stomp on their neck when they're down. Then run away before the Mounties show up on their gallant steeds.

Call the police and let them know what happened. What this guy did is harrassment and it is a punishable offense. I'd hate to see this douche try to mess with you or the kids. One thing to threaten a man but with your husband not being home, I would ere on the side of caution on this.

Also, how can it add fuel to the fire when the guy is still gunning for your husband... after three fucking years? Put the police on him and shut him down.

Most definitely this. That idiot is what is called unstable and holds a pretty damn good grudge.

lol Patrick. i'm happy to live in a trigger-happy state in the US. actually, we have the highest concealed carry permit rate per capita. owning a gun (and knowing how to use it) means that the odds of defending myself against a large man are much higher.

i wonder what the police would even do. maybe i'll make a phone call tomorrow to see. this is where it could add fuel to the fire. maybe this guy was just drunk and bored, and decided to play a little joke. this is my impression of the situation; he's just trying to be a douche. if we report him, what would happen? would he have to go to court? pay a fine? then he's going to be pissed, and probably think that we're hiding behind the police, which might embolden him. i'm not scared, i'm just trying to think of the wisest action to take to prevent any sort of encounter.

Threats are taken quite seriously in Canada, especially when the guy resurfaces 3 years later still threatening. If he'd be made bold by police interest, then you have a seriously messed up fuck to deal with. Likely he'll be freaked out and not even more interested in causing shit.

As I said, you can't add fuel to the fire. HE'S STILL THINKING ABOUT THIS 3 YEARS LATER. Think about that good and hard.
