    I can't imagine.

    The instinct for 'heroic medicine' is alive and well, isn't it? Look, none of the drugs work, quick, pass the scalpel.

    First time I met my doctor as a student, I mentioned that I got cold feet and chilblains. At once, he started talking excitedly about surgery for Raynaud's that involves severing nerves. Time to smile calmly and back out of the room...
