Richard Proenneke "Alone in the Wilderness"

    Primal Fuel
I remember his movie "Alone in the Wilderness" from grade school. They showed the movie in assembly. I was fascinated by the solitude. I believe solitude is the reason for my deep attraction to fishing, hunting and hiking. If you have never seen it I suggests looking for it online or at least watching this clip from You tube.

i think for males the need for some solitude or another is genetically programmed in ...
(not being sexist - i just cant comment on females not being one .. an empirical generalisation is that they are more social creatures..)

Oh I don't know about that. I love the solitude of a nice long hike or a long bike ride. I love people, too, but I work with them all day long. Sometimes the chance to be alone is extremely welcome. (disclaimer - when I hike, the dog comes with me, but as he doesn't talk, I don't think he counts.).
