Not sure who has a Wegmans by them...

But today I was out shopping with my aunt and kids and decided to swing into Wegmans for lunch, it is a grocery store by the way that serves food in a Market Cafe of sorts as well, they sell fresh sushi, a cold buffet, hot buffet etc. Well they have these $6 menu where you pick a meat and 2 sides. anyway here is the link if you want to look at it. I had the butternut squash with onions, spinach and cranberries as one of the sides and then roasted brussel sprouts....It was fantastic for "fast" food. I just had to share a picture of that delicious butternut squash...looks like I will have to try to replicate that at home.

There's one super close by here in State College, PA. Definitely the best grocery store around.

I love Wegman's. Unhappily there's not one within 1,000 miles of where I live. When I used to visit my daughter in Syracuse, I always had to make a trip to the big Wegman's in DeWitt.

I'm from PA, Wegman's was my first experience with a Whole Foods-type store, always a little fancy for me as I was more of a Giant Eagle type of guy!

It's been a long time since I've seen one though, I live in Vegas now.
I began this Primal journey on December 30th, 2009 and in that time I've lost over 125 LBS.

I'm in the city where Wegman's originated--Rochester NY. LOVE my Wegman's!

Just fyi, there is soybean oil in most of the prepared sides, and there is gluten in many of them (for folks who are intolerant). They do sell hot rotisserie chickens that are totally plain--no other ingredients. Great for a fast meal--I like to coat it in a little EVOO and spices and broil in the oven to get the skin crispy when I'm feeling too lazy to cook...(not pastured or anything...but another option... )

Wegman's has all the other grocery store/super centers beat by a mile! Their natural foods section is enormous and the ethnic section has so much to choose from. Their produce section has great variety and more organic stuff than anywhere else. The closest one to me is 25 miles away, but worth the trip.

I am from the Lehigh Valley also (sort of) and only shop at Wegmens (Bethlehem). They have the "extra" stuff you don't find in other supermarkets. However, don't believe their "free range" chickens or "grass fed" beef. Read the fine print a little closer.

I shop at the Wegmans in Downingtown, PA but it's just too crowded. If you're on a budget, the conventional beef is usually a good price.
