    Paleo BBQ Sauce (Not Mark's)

    Primal Blueprint Expert Certification
So I bought a pork shoulder roast or two the other day (I SO need a trunk freezer, but anyway)... and my partner, who has been investigating Primal cooking, said "Can you make a lot of that Primal barbecue sauce you put on the chicken during the summer? If you can, I'll make a BBQ marinated pulled pork that's perfectly primal in the slow cooker - we can have it for dinner tomorrow, and lunch the day after, and dinner the night after that..."

Oh HELL yes. So I mixed up some Paleo BBQ sauce and it's cooling off on the stove right now. And tomorrow night there will be pulled pork primal numminess.

    I love my partner.

Wow, and here I thought I'd linked it. I *AM* tired.

It's Son of Grok's recipe: http://www.sonofgrok.com/2009/06/sog-zesty-bbq-zauce/ Instead of tomato paste, I used the blender and a jar of TJ's sun-dried tomatoes and pureed that. It was GOOOD.

I love SoG's BBQ sauce. I always make extra to keep in the freezer. I add a little bit of liquid smoke... probably full of creepy chemicals, I'm not sure I even read the ingredient label, but it's worth it to me for the taste. =]

I've played around with sweetening it before (once with watermelon juice boiled down into a syrup, and once with applesauce) but I usually don't, because it certainly doesn't need it.

I'm blogging again, at least a little bit.
