    New PB'er

    Primal Blueprint Expert Certification
I recently stumbled across the PB online looking for a way to lose weight.

I am around 270 right now, 6`1 and trying to get off 40-50 pounds. I started out a couple weeks ago and this is generally what I have been eating:
-70-120 grams carbs from fruits and vegetables
-around 200 grams of protein, mostly fish and meats, no eggs as I am allergic, and 2 soops of protein powder per day
    -70-120 grams of fats

I have some good results, but I am slightly concerned about calories. Depending on how much I can eat I consume 1500-2300 calories.

How does my program look and are there places I should be tweaking it.....

Thanks for any advice, I know there are people who have been on here along time and know what they are talking about!

If you're seeing some good results, I wouldn't worry about hitting some sort of magic perfection. If you're losing weight and not feeling hungry, that's an awesome start! Don't worry about calories. Grok didn't.

To get feedback on your diet, it would be helpful to see a typical day's actual food. For example, the carbs from fruit and veggies....which fruit and veggies? Where does the fat come from? What do you drink?

Zone diet on and off for several years....worked, but too much focus on exact meal composition

It isn't about calories. It's about proportions. Get rid of the calories-in-calories-out mentality; it doesn't work that way.

How much fat, as a percentage of your daily calories, are you eating? It should be at least 60% and 70% of daily calories is better. Carbs should be minimal - no more than 50g per day, less if possible. Have you cut out grains, processed food, bad oils?
Primal eating in a nutshell: If you are hungry, eat Primal food until you are satisfied (not stuffed). Then stop. Wait until you're hungry again. Repeat.

All the carbs I have been consuming are from fruits like berries or apples and pears, and fresh vegetables or cooked veggies like spinach, peppers, celery, beets, summer squash or tomatoes.

The fats have been from almond and almond butter, olive oil, avocado, and meats.

Porportions are 50% fat, around 40% protein and 10% carbs.

I also drink about 10 glasses of water a day.

Source of carbs doesn't matter - cut out the pommes (apples and pears), the tomatoes and the beets for now, and have maybe a handful of berries, maybe once every other day. Most fruits are way too high in sugar to help you on the PB. Stick to the occasional - and I mean occasional - berry. Get most of your PB carbs from leafy greens. You need more fat than protein. Boost your fat to at least 60% and preferably 70% of your calories, and cut your protein proportionate to that, in order to lose weight.
