    Interesting article I found that I agree with. Train low carb but on race day carb up....you really need glycogen on hand for top performance; in combination with your improved fat burning it helps a lot.

    Makes sense to me. I'm doing a metric century tomorrow on my singlespeed...will give this a try.

    It makes sense to me, as well. The suggestions sound like they are intended for people who normally eat a reasonably high carb everyday diet. I'd like to think that after a couple of months of forcing my body to live off primarily fat metabolism that running before breakfast wouldn't automatically equal glycogen depletion, unless it was very long run.

    It does make sense to me too, and I am using that method for my events.

    agreed - i SUCK at squash during an IF period....I have the stamina for a 45 min game but not to the mental agility or hand-eye co-ordination!

    In the morning I can go running about 1 and a half hours before having to hit a gel or eat some dates.....i think I am just starting to see some fat burning efficiency in my system.
