    Spaghetti squash ideas?

    Primal Blueprint Expert Certification
I just bought my first spaghetti squash ever (holy mackerel, they are HUGE, the thing is the size of my head) and am not sure how to prepare it. Any ideas?

Bake it like a normal winter squash till it is soft.
Use a fork to scrape out the cooked squash into spaghetti-like tendrils.
Pat with a towel to remove excess water.
Eat in replacement of noodles in a spaghetti style dinner.

We like to bake, scrape, mix with pesto & a little parm cheese in a casserole dish, top with more parm cheese and bake again.

Excellent, thanks. Approximately how long does it take to bake? I have minced turkey, so I think I will make spaghetti with meatballs. Wonder if the kids will fall for it...

My dad grew me some spaghetti squash but I don't think they liked the Irish climate. When I baked it there were no spaghetti like noddles only an ordinary squash like texture. So I whizzed it into some soup, instead.

I know this isn't exactly the perfect primal meal, too much dairy, but this recipe is to die for. http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/re...10000001842378 I added 4 oz of cream cheese and used more cheese than called for. But I'm a cheesaholic. The jalepeno flavor totally makes this recipe wonderful. Oh, and of course I skipped the flour, didn't even need it. Pressing the squash in a colander after you scrape it out helps keep it from being too watery.

There was a spaghetti squash casserole recipe entered recently into the primal recipe video contest. I made it today, and it is very good and worthy of a repeat at my picky house. In the video, she shows you what to do with the squash.
