Place to "get in touch with nature"?

    Primal Fuel
I am trying to change my workout location from a public park to a more natural location. Do you know a web resource where I could search for these locations? For example, a forest, etc. I am guessing the best bet would be a state park or something similar. Any one has good ideas?

It would help if you could tell us a bit about where you live?

I have one such place just down the road from me. But I'm in the UK, so that wouldn't help. The OP's in the US, I'm assuming (and is also assuming the rest of us are, too!)

Do a web search for state parks in your area.
    - If it was cute and cuddly at some point, eat it. Ignore everything else. -

    - Food is first, and foremost, nothing more than fuel. -

    - The body is animal. The mind, however, is not. -

Upss... forgot to write my location.

I live in Gainesville, FL, US. There are some places around here that I know about but I am trying to expand my database

Well, you're probably okay there. I would warn you against going onto forest land and state parks (except established trails and camp sites) in some places in Oregon. Pot farmers have booby-trapped some of them. You don't want to blunder into something like that.

Yeah, we only gotta worry about alligators here

I got in contact with an ecology professor at my university. He is sending me some resources which will hopefully help.

If you don't mind traveling, to some places I recommend:

    - Iguaz˙ Park, Argentina. (Go see the Brazilian side as well it's well worth it). It is one of the most beautiful places on earth. http://www.iguazuargentina.com/espanol/
    - Alaska in the summer, Take a drive between Anchorage and Dawson city, Yukon. The Thundra is magnificent, you may see some grizzlies, Caribou and Mooses.
    - The Grand Canyon, you can drive there from Las Vegas or take an organized tour.

Since you're in the U.K, you should also check out Ireland, I've been meaning to visit it. Just look up Ireland in Google images, I'm sure there are quite a few places you will want to see in person.
