I was in France skiing for 4 months in the early part of this year. I'd be miserable if I couldn't go again this year!

waking up every morning, 10 yards from the chairlift...

I'm jacked for both! Probably more jacked for XC, because downhill in Michigan sucks.

PMSL!! It does over here, too - unless you happen to be in Scotland! I've only ever been skiing once in my life - with school when I was 14. I hated it (but I think that was more because of the nuns than anything...)

Sound of Music- or Sister Act - this was not!

I've always wanted to go to BC - that way I might learn more about what became of my great-grandpa (because no-one knows much about his life, it would appear). He went to Vancouver when he was 16, and joined the Canadian Oversees Expeditionary Force at the outbreak of WW1. My late grandpa used to claim he was Canadian, but he left when he was about 2 or 3.

But I'd LOVE to learn to snowboard - Snowboard Cross had me REALLY excited watching the Winter Olympics earlier this year. We're quite good at that! There's a Scottish lass who did quite well (forget her name now! - D'OH!)

Lol true, but I've witnessed many ski folk who aren't big fans of snowboarders. (To be fair, some snowboarders are completely rude, and don't obey the rules of the hill. Some skiiers suck in this regard as well.)

I'm so excited to get back on a board. My groklings are finally old enough that I can get away to snowboard, and every day I see a little more snow on those mountain caps!!!!!!!!!!!
