lab results - yay for eating primal!
I had blood drawn last week and received the results today. The numbers are:
Total cholesterol: 157
Triglycerides: 30
HDL: 46
LDL: 105
fasting glucose: 100
Total/HDL: 3.41
Triglycerides/HDL: 0.65
LDL/HDL: 2.28
So the lipids - numbers and ratios - are all improved from my pre-primal days. The fasting glucose is still a bit high but better, and I am learning what foods make my blood glucose go up (I had grains and sugar the day before this particular test).
I have to admit I was a little nervous about adding so much more fat, especially saturated fat, to my diet. But I feel better in so many ways and my blood looks good (and doctor is very happy). I am never going back to a grain-dominated way of eating. Never. I called various family members to let them know the results and had to put emphasis on eating lots of eggs, along with butter, red meat, and full fat yogurt (all things we're told not to eat), and I feel better than I have in years.
