Homemade Huaraches--What did you use for the sole?
I'm going to make my first pair of huaraches this weekend, and from the sites posted on this site I read that I can order the vibram sole, do "elephant bark," or rawhide leather. Our local leather shop has rawhide but only in white and transparent I told the salesperson I wanted a brown/tan leather that was thin, flexible, and able to hold up against the friction of walking. He said they had plenty that satisfied that criteria, but I was hoping others could share what material they used, and how it worked out for them (any pictures would be fantastic too!). Thanks!
