    Saturday

    Cold, wet, rainy, dreary day

    I should have gone to help with a costume sale with the local theater group

    But I stayed home instead.

    My back was still bad and I didn't think a morning of standing out in the cold on a pavilion cement floor would improve it.

    ~~~~
    Last night the cats knocked over a package of stewing beef that was thawing for the pets.
    Lily found it this morning and ate about 3/4 of the package and then tried to guard the rest of it.
    Guess what eating too much meat does to a little dog????
    I cleaned up two messes and Lily had to have two "butt baths"
    Which she loves (not)
    ~~~

    I managed to wash the dining room, kitchen and bathroom floors without hurting myself!
    I went to town for more carpet cleaning stuff, whipping cream and some wine.
    Then I searched on-line for some content for the Home School course I'm teaching.
    While drinking mead.

    We were supposed to go to a friend's tonight, but she begged off with a headache.
    So it looks like a quiet evening with the computer and maybe a horror movie ('tis the season)

    Daughter is putting weight on her leg. Walking slowly around without the crutches.
    She's going to a Halloween party tonight. As a cat.

    Eats:
    Chai with whipping cream
    Cheeses (Brie, Mozzarella, Cheddar) and left over roast beef
    1/2 bottle of mead
    Peameal bacon, scrambled eggs, small portion of hashbrowns

    Whipping cream with raspberries
    Chai with chocolate and whipping cream

    (I'm now reading the Eat MOAR Fat thread...)

    I can see I need to visit here more often for food ideas. Yeah, who am I kidding? I need more food ideas? I need to padlock the kitchen!

    Seriously, I'll be over to finish the other half bottle of mead.

    Daughter couldn't put any weight on her foot, but she wanted to go to school in the morning, so I drove her in. I called the Fowler Kennedy Sports Clinic (where she went for her ACL repair) and left a message. I was supposed to supply teach from 11:30 - 2 so I made an early lunch (or late breakfast) at 10 (the same thing as Wednesday) I just finished eating when the clinic called me back and said they could see her at 1:15. I called the school and cancelled my supply job and txt'd my Daughter with the news.

    Of course, we hadn't changed our OHIP or driver's license addresses yet, so we had to stop and do that first.

    The doctors poked and moved her leg and X-rayed it. And they are not sure what's wrong. It could be one of two things. Either a patellar subluxation or an ACL tear. Oh boy. They want her to start physiotherapy and come back in 2 weeks for a reassessment when the swelling has gone down.

    Daughter is understandably upset, but doesn't want to talk about it.

    We stopped at my chiropractor's on the way home and my back felt awesome when I left her Before supper I sat out in the Butterfly pen with a glass (or 2) of wine.

    Supper was leftover roast and roasted veggies. I took the Farmer's out to him on the combine on my way to play practice.

    Someone brought gummy worms to play practice and the tub was sitting right in front of me

    Guess what happened???

    After practice I was invited to the local bar for a drink. I went. But I only had one glass of wine.
    Oh man! So rough for your daughter. There is always something going on around your house, isn't there?

    I think I would have moved the tub...

    Sunday

    Cold rainy blah pj day.

    I took the Butterflies for a walk and I needed a toque and mitts
    So not ready for that!

    I worked on the curriculum for my Home Instruction student and surfed the net.

    Eats:
    Chai with whipping cream
    Peameal bacon slice, BLT (with cheddar) in 2 romaine lettuce leaves
    Wine
    pistachios and a tiny wedge of Brie
    Roast Chicken, roasted carrots, cauliflower and red peppers
    Drinking Chocolate (whipping cream and shaved 85% chocolate with a little salt and cinnamon)

    I think I'm going to go have a soak in my cast iron tub...

    Blah sort of day here too. And it didn't even get above freezing today! Not ready for that either. I need to retire to someplace that stays warm all year. We've actually started discussing Costa Rica. Had a fabulous holiday there 7 years ago...

    I must have missed that part about your daughter's diagnosis from her knee re-injury. Not so good, no wonder she's bummed.

    The bath sounds like a great idea. I considered it too, but am actually too lazy tonight to bother, haha.
