    I hate funerals.
I had to drive my In Laws to a funeral today, NE of London.
    I knew no-one.
I STILL almost cried at one point.
    I'm such a hopeless sap.

I spent a few hours with my Farmer and then he left with his buddies to go on his annual moose hunting trip in the "Swamp Donkey Express" (an old converted school bus). 9 hour drive. So, for the 25th time, I'm a moose hunter's widow for a week.
A greenhouse with butterflies? *plonk* And a clawfoot tub? *double plonk* (Except that I hate cleaning underneath those things.) I am jealous, for sure.

Hmm, maybe I should stick a couple of cloves of my organic garlic in the flower beds. Just to see.

I've been moved to tears at the funerals of people I barely knew too. It's just harmonizing with the emotions of the people left behind.

Glad to hear you saw the chiro, but you need to take it easy for a few days, methinks.
I am really loving the new house! For 25 years I've lived in a house I really didn't like. I moved in to the old house with the understanding that we would build a new house behind it and tear down the old house. That never happened. Then we thought that my Farmer's parents were going to move out of their house and we would move into it. That never happened. I had lived for SO MANY years in a house didn't like that I hadn't realized how it had affected me until I'd moved out of it!! Although I'm sure that I'm in the "honeymoon" phase, I'm thinking that I could be very happy here. As I said before, I feel CONTENT.

    The clawfoot tub IS awesome

OK, The greenhouse is an old tobacco greenhouse, (I'll get a photo) the Butterflies are my Papillons (Papillon is French for Butterfly) The clawfoot tub IS awesome (I haven't cleaned under it yet) This is the 1st year I've tried planting garlic.

Yeah, the funeral thing...don't you feel weird (fake) crying at a funeral for someone you don't know??? I know I do.

    Friday

So I had another weird day today.
In the morning I took my car to the mechanic's (oil change and new wipers)
Then I took the Butterflies for a walk in our backyard:

This is from a 1/2 a km out in our field, looking back at our house and barns.

At noon, some friends (my "creative" crew) picked me up and we went on a prop hunting adventure.
    We picked up these girls:

Meet Matilda (fox), Molly (raccoon) and Beatrice (beaver) Of course we had to name them

Matilda really enjoyed the car ride to the theatre:

They are going to be part of the Ritz Apache Hotel (the setting for the play I'm helping with)

We went out for lunch around 2. I had chili (a HUGE bowl , I could only eat half of it) and then I stopped at a friend's of my parents to help him recover/change his password for his email (he'd forgotten it) It took me about a half hour, he asked me what he owed me (I've been debating starting a business helping people with their electronic/computer/software problems) but I ddn't charge him. How am I supposed to start a business when I feel weird charging people???

Time for a couple more photos:
    My fall centerpiece:

No, I don't feel fake. I feel empathetic...

Oh, I forgot you called your dogs that. Still nice, but I was picturing something like the butterflies at the Montreal Botanical Gardens.

So nice that you are happier in this house. Now I understand why you weren't resisting the move. Your fake animals are absolutely wonderful! Where does one even begin finding such things?

Good question A local museum was "decommissioning" them. They were part of a dressed taxidermy display. They donated them to our theatre Evidently there was also a "goose with a questionable past" but she wasn't available...

Our minds went off on a great creative tangent concerning the "questionable past" of the goose

    Saturday

It was a pj day today.
    Rainy and cold.
    I unpacked 6 boxes.
    And drank wine.
    And ate chocolate.

The kitties were together in a "kitty cave":

The boxes I still have to unpack:

LOL @ questionable past... That's hilarious.

I do not envy you the boxes. Then again, I have a room full in the basement. And I've lived here about seven years. Some of the boxes belong to various offspring. I am looking forward to the day when they are all properly settled and reclaim all their stuff.

In the meanwhile, I need to find my sewing stuff. Not the hand-mending basket, but the stuff I need for making clothes from scratch. I have no clue where it is in all that mess.
