Okay, definitely time to stick a happy face on your calendar! Do you find that the feeling of being in control is more satisfying than the eating would be? I often do. Not that I don't cave sometimes, but consciously remembering the rewards of self-control is a pretty powerful tool in my box.

    Thanks ladies!
Greensprout: Yeah, last year, the booth was NOT a good place for winencandy!
Judg: Sometimes. Sometimes the "control" thing works. Sometimes it doesn't. When I did my Whole 30, the "control" aspect was NOT good for me. Sometimes I can have one (of whatever) and leave the rest. Sometimes I can't stop after one. Sometimes I can tell myself "Not today" (You can give ANYTHING up for one day)

My mind is a weird thing

I will have to take the booth one day at a time. If I tell myself "NO ice cream, NO candy, No fries ALL summer" I WILL cave. If I can tell myself "Not today, maybe tomorrow", it might work.

    Monday

    Supply teaching job.
I stopped and bought "Fresh Local Strawberries" at a farm on the way home.
Bleh! They were greenhouse berries Tasted just like grocery store berries.
My sister needed to borrow my car Tuesday, so I drove out to the booth and spent a 1/2 hour there.
NO fries, NO candy, NO ice cream at the booth!
I read some of Empire of Ivory (the 4th Temeraire book) epub version, from the library.

Protein shake, blueberries, dark chocolate, leftover chicken, roasted carrots and cauliflower, strawberries, small ice cream on a stick (dipped in chocolate) chai (without whipping cream - I realized that I was drinking WAY TOO MUCH - so I stopped buying it)

    Tuesday

Of course, since I lent my car to my sister, I got a call for a supply teaching job today. I had to decline it.
I went for a walk/run this morning. More walking than running. 2.5K in 25min.
    dishes, laundry, Temeraire,
I was cold today, I had to put on a sweater...

    Lunch:

    Supper:

Yeah, I know there are BEANS in my chili!!! Whatever...

wine and another chocolate covered ice cream on a stick

We watched the "Transit of Venus" across the sun with my Farmer's welding helmets after supper.

Daughter's 17th birthday is tomorrow, she took some friends into London to watch a movie and buy an ice cream cake

Just checking in today - I've been a bad, bad person and am trying to dig myself back out of the hole with a new journal - counting down to my 50th . Sounds like your exercise programme is still humming along though! You sound so . . . energetic!

Absolutely! If I forbid myself things, then I have to have them. If I say, "Sure, you can have it. Just not today," it's amazing how long I can go without actually having it.

Not a bad bad person. A wonderful person who's made some bad choices!
No one's perfect. We all have our moments.

    Wednesday

    Soccer Daughter's 17th birthday today!

I had a call this morning for a teaching job for the afternoon in London. I declined 'cause I had a hair apt and Soccer Daughter wanted to go into London after school (I wasn't going to work in London, drive home and turn around and drive back into London)

I covered my grey this morning. Foils in two darker shades of red. iLike

Lunch was a small bowl of leftover chili. After eating I caught my Dragon looking in the fridge for "something".
    Winencandy: "Whatcha looking for?"
Dragon: "I don't know. Something. Maybe something SWEET? Maybe ice cream?"
Winencandy: "How about some more chili"
Dragon: "I'm not hungry for chili"
Winencandy: "Then I guess you're not hungry"
    Dragon: "I guess you're right"

WOW! My Dragon LISTENED to me!!

The afternoon saw spent doing exciting things like dishes, laundry and reading about Temeraire.
I picked up Soccer Daughter at school and we went shopping. I got a cute little brown leather purse (so soft) and Soccer Daughter got TONS of things. Supper was mall food. Chicken Shawarma with salads. We picked up a Dairy Queen ice cream cake for her birthday on our way home.

I had a slice when we got home.
