University Son came home for a few days.
I took the Butterflies to the beach:

They had a great time, exploring all the smells on the beach. On the way back, we found my nephew and his girlfriend launching their new kayaks into the creek. My nephew flipped his as soon as he got in! I visited with them for a bit:

My parents were there too and my Dad tried out one of the kayaks:

When it was time to go, Lily was digging a hole and there were two really large dogs in the parking lot so I decided to to put Josie in the car and then go back for Lily. I opened the car windows and was about to buckle Josie in her seat when my Mom and Sister started screaming at me , "Lily's choking! I don't know what to do! Get over here!"

I couldn't leave Josie in the car, cause the windows were open, I couldn't leave her tied to the car because of the big dogs, so I scooped her up and ran back to Lily. I set Josie down and turned to Lily. At that moment, Josie attacked Lily! I broke them up, getting bit in the process. Lily, of course, was fine. Evidently, fighting takes care of any choking issues.

Anyway. My finger hurts. My right index finger has one puncture on the top (right over the 1st knuckle) and two on the pad. It's swollen and hot. I iced it and took some Homeopathic remedies. I removed the ring on that finger.

So I'm typing without my right index finger.

    Monday

I had a supply teaching job. With my swollen, iodine stained finger.
After work I bought a shelving unit. Hopefully we can organize some of College Son's stuff.

We had wild turkey for supper. My Farmer asked "So can you call it organic?" We talked about it. We don't think so. Can it be organic when a good part of it's diet is field corn?? They found field corn in it's gullet when they were cleaning it. I said that it had to be better than farm raised, it at least got to eat other things as well. But I don't know. Can ANY wild game raised near a field be considered "organic"??

I had band practice after supper. I did not play very well. You really need your right index finger to play.

    (I have SO MANY typos!!!)

    Ouch. Kisses for your finger...

If the field corn is sprayed with pesticides, I guess the wild turkey would not be organic. At least it's not stuffed with hormones and antibiotics. And it had a much better life than a factory-raised bird.

I know what to do with that second bar!
Alternating warm and cold chocolate compresses on that finger.
Ouch. Right on the knuckle, that sounds extremely painful.

    Tuesday

We started to organize College Son's stuff.

I can bend my finger more tonight, but it's still warm.

Tonight we went to a "Mexican Night" (The same place we had the Irish Night in March)
I wore a bright colourful silk wrap skirt, Gladiator sandals and a flower in my hair.
Excellent food. I can't give the "official" menu - someone else took it home with them.
Corona beer, A cheese stuffed roasted pepper, a watermellon and "something" salad, a boneless chicken breast with a mole sauce, roasted squash and rice and beans (I only had a bite or two of the rice & beans). Ice cream with black licorice and a caramel sauce.

Oh, and a "cute" Tequila shot (can tequila be called cute?)
It was in a juiced half lime (with the tip cut off so it would sit flat) rimmed with salt.

Next month the theme is "My Big Fat Greek Fest"
