Yup.
It was a conspiracy....
Two of them and the 1/2 bottle of wine and the three Palm Bays...
They snuck up and smacked me....

I can't wait to see the drag king photos. I second the slicked-back hair + fedora look.

What is it with you and gummy worms!! Maybe you need to practice a little aversion therapy, imagine real slimy brown cold worms instead when you look at them.

So, Friday night:

I spent a fair amount of time here:

An outdoor, fenced in "Beer Garden", drinking with my friends.

Watching this:

With tractors, modified tractors, pick up trucks and semi trucks.
Yup, country "entertainment"
See the big orange "sled" behind the truck?
I rode in it

The truck pulling the sled belongs to a friend of mine.

Saturday morning was rough...
you would think I'd know better by now...

I got up, showered, had a protein shake and made it into town for the parade at noon:
Here's my Farmer pulling the church float for his sister:

This is our mayor, a good friend he called himself "Captain Canada"

and inside the fairgrounds, a donation got you a cup of ham & bean soup that was cooked in this kettle:

In the past, this has been one of my favorite things about the fair. Yesterday, I got my cup, took about 3 bites (i fished out the ham) and then I pitched it...I'm not sure if my tastes have changes since last year, or I was still suffering from "the night before" (probably both)

The afternoon was spent holding down the couch.

Then I had to get ready for the 50th birthday party.
My artist friend canceled on the suit idea so I had to find some "girl" clothes to wear...

On my way into the party, I stopped and bought some candy to decorate our table.

I bought Skittles ('cause I don't like them) and I bought dark chocolate M&Ms (I didn't know they made dark chocolate ones)
I sprinkled the Skittles along our table (for decoration) and then noticed that the baskets on the tables were filled with candies
(This was a recurring theme at our production meetings - "drinking wine and eating candy")

I had a glass of wine (of course)
Supper was buffet, and the birthday girl and her partner made everything.
There was baked potatoes with (real) butter and sour cream, cabbage rolls!!!!, roast beef, ham, baked beans, salad, cut fresh veggies and buns.
I had everything except for the buns.
Dessert was cupcakes and chocolate mint fudge.
I had some more roast beef and a small piece of fudge.
And then I had another wine. And nibbled on the dark chocolate M&Ms.
The birthday girl's partner asked me if I could take some photos with her camera, so I was the photographer for the evening.
(the best part of being the photographer is that there are NO photos of yourself )
Of course, once I had the camera, the artist and I got creative
and had a third glass of wine.
We played with the candies, tried some still frame animations of sweets disappearing, took several CUs of the food, and generally took tons of photos of everyone there. I remembered to take a few with my iPhone:




The midnight meal (at 10:30) was pulled pork, baked beans and veggies.

It was a fun evening, I'd missed the artist.
Funny, being with her, talking with her, "made" me be creative...

Today was a couch day. Again.
Protein shake for lunch.
I watched Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons.
Wine in the late afternoon.
Roast chicken, squash and guacamole ('cause the avocado was getting ripe)
Organic watermelon (that we bought at the fair)

There will be wine tomorrow, my Farmer opened a new bottle just before supper - one of my FAVORITE wines
(that I can ONLY get in the states)...
I will NOT leave it until the weekend...
