Your Easter weekend sounded relaxing, nice to have the whole gang at home. And I second the kudos on the great photos! It seems so rare to be able to get the whole family out together for a walk/hike/raft experiment, so very cool.

I noticed the Lindt sea salt as 47% cocoa too, I had bought one bar a while back, but no more! Granted I did find last week a mini bar of camino dark chocolate with almond butter (ah, only 55%) which I'm saving for a moment of need.

Nice work on getting all the e-training done today, definitely counts as using your brain

Thanks, yeah, it's not a "pretty" beach, but it's close and it's "mine"!
    Easter was great!

We've developed an "Easter/Thanksgiving" tradition of long walks on the beach with everyone.
We've been doing it for at least...10 years...It IS nice!
The raft was a new addition, although one year the boys found a huge log, pushed it into the lake and rode it for a while!

It's important to have an emergency stash of dark chocolate!

I just had a Protein shake with frozen mango, pineapple juice, and coconut milk (with a dash of cinnamon and vanilla) 'cause my kids were having fruit smoothies and I was a bit hungry.

I figured my protein might have been a bit low today

    April Goals
    1. 5K on April 10!!!!! DONE!
    2. SLEEP
    3. Follow my “Desired Goals” without counting!
    4. Work on the 20th Anniversary Band video

    Food
11:30: Salad: 2 hard boiled eggs, red pepper, carrots, cauliflower, garlic, balsamic and olive oil
2:00: Protein shake with mango, coconut milk & pineapple juice
5:00: a handful of Cadbury Mini Eggs with my Daughter
6:00: Steak, a bakes potato with butter, a salad: tomato, cucumber, carrots, mushrooms, Greek dressing

    Avoid Poisons & Stupid Mistakes
Off Plan Eating: the Cadbury Mini Eggs, I’ll be glad when they are all gone…

    Move Slowly, Lift Heavy, Sprint
    Nope

My sister text'd me last night to ask if I was still running…

Sleep, Sun, Play, and Use Your Brain

Bed around 11:00ish, up at 8:30, got ready and went to the local school to supply teach for 10am

I think one grade 10 girl doesn’t like me very much (I’m crushed ) …I warned her about texting in class, she did it again and I took her phone away. She said “That’s Bullshit!” I said “Excuse me?” She started to argue with me and I suggested we could take the conversation to the office She sulked and listened to her iPod for the rest of class…whatever…

I took my Beetle for an oil change after work. That’s always SO much fun, spending an hour in the garage…

I shared the Mini Eggs with my Daughter while she talked about her friend's "asshat" boyfriend. (It's like deja vu - we've had this conversation before) He's all controlling and jealous when she talks to other boys...he's emotionally abusing her. My Daughter and I both get SO angry when we even think about it! That's why we shared the chocolate

    Teenage drama...

Tonight, I might help my Farmer change a truck tire…well, I’ll watch him
That's only if he can drag himself away from the hockey game...

I had to Just Say No to all Easter candy, so, while I don't want anyone eating something they feel really bad about, I am getting quite a lovely vicarious joy out of reading about other people enjoying small tastes and sensible treats! Seriously, it makes me happy to know someone out there is getting to eat them.

Well, you can be happy again today...

    Food
11:30: Salad: 2 hard boiled eggs, avocado, tomato, bacon, carrots, cucumber, onion, garlic, lemon juice and avocado oil
3:00: Protein shake with pineapple juice & mango slices
6:30 crock-pot beef stew with carrots, brussel sprouts and onions. Sweet potato fries.
7:00 handful of Cadbury Mini Eggs

    Avoid Poisons & Stupid Mistakes
Off Plan Eating: Cadbury Mini Eggs

You know what? I might have “cured” myself of my Cadbury Mini Egg “problem”. When I eat them, I like the candy crunch with the softness of the chocolate. The textures. I realized that I was just popping them in my mouth and quickly crunching them without really “tasting” them. So with my “last” one, I slowly sucked off the candy coating – it was SO SWEET! Too sweet…and the chocolate was just…milk chocolate…now they are sitting beside me and I don’t want them. I think I just “realized” HOW MUCH SUGAR they have…

We’ll see how long this lasts…

Next time (if/when there is a next time) when I take the first one, if I make myself slowly suck the candy off and then eat the chocolate, I don’t think I’ll want another…

    Move Slowly, Lift Heavy, Sprint

    Nope…Saturday. I will MOVE on Saturday…I will…really…

Sleep, Sun, Play, and Use Your Brain
Bed around midnight and I couldn’t fall asleep…up at 6 to get ready for a teaching job…out the door by 7am.

It was a good supply day, although I had to play “Internet Cop” in 3rd period…”Get off Facebook” “No games”…sigh

A little shopping after school: creamed coconut, coconut milk, and coconut oil. More food. An enameled cast iron 5Qt casserole on sale for $45 (was $145) I looked for a few books at Chapters, but they didn’t have any on my list…

I decided that I don’t like Brussel sprouts in with the stew…they get too soft…

After supper my Daughter and I went with my Farmer to his parents' farm to change the truck tires. He made her do most of the work, ‘cause she wants me to take her and her girlfriends into the city to see “Prom” tomorrow night and we can’t all fit in the Beetle…
It was her 1st tire change

    Here's a photo of my In-Laws' farm:

    This is their "backyard".

It's late, I've got to teach again early tomorrow, so I'll have to read everyone's journals later...
    g'nite

If you like the texture of the crunchy shell and soft, squishy centre, maybe you should try eating bugs. Or maybe just think about that next time you want a candy egg. He-He.
