This is Your Brain on Ketones

Finally! I've suggested this topic on MDA before with no luck. Luckily, Dr. Emily Deans just addressed the subject here:

Her blog, Evolutionary Psychiatry, is quickly becoming one of my favs, I strongly recommend it.

I will say that I feel much calmer without sugar in my diet, for whatever reason.

Thanks for posting this - very, very interesting!
Sometimes you need to be told the truth in order to be able to see it.

You have? I'd have backed you up It's talked about frequently - very frequently - in my journal as mental health, especially anxiety and depression, have been hot topics in that thread.

I quip freqeuntly that "I love my brain on ketones". I'm much less sensitive, much happier, enjoy dramatically increased mood stability. (though that may not be so clear lately.....but then again, I'm not in ketosis so there is that. lol)

Her blog is a very very good and I enjoy reading it along with the others we often discuss here: heartscan, cooling inflammation etc

Thanks for taking the time to post, Serial. Your input, unique and exceptionally informed perspective are very much appreciated here. Glad to see you back.
